Our #1 Lady Lions went the distance against #2 River Island, falling just short 17-15 in the 5th. After dropping the first two sets, they showed grit, heart, and determination—storming back to force a deciding set. 💪🦁

Though the scoreboard didn’t swing our way, the fight, unity, and never-quit spirit were on full display. This team is TALENTED, this team is TOUGH, and most of all- put Christ first- even in tough times.

The Big Valley Christian Lions made the long trip north to West Valley High School near Redding. While the scoreboard didn’t end in our favor, the true victory came after the final whistle.

Coach Adam Lema, gathered his team, but instead of only focusing inward, his players asked to pray for West Valley. Out of genuine love and sportsmanship, the Lions prayed with their opponents. While this is BVCS standard, it wasn’t for them.

The gesture moved the West Valley coach deeply, who shared, “This is the first time this has happened. You guys are true champions, and it will show on the field soon.”

Though the outcome wasn’t what we hoped for, the night reflected what matters most: Christ first. Even miles from home, the Lions carried the spirit of faith, humility, and love into the game—showing that character always outshines the scoreboard.

Thank you Coach Lema and your coaching staff for your leadership.

Karlie needed to jump 17 feet to automatically qualify for Masters and she was determined to do so!
She jumped 16.8,16.6 and 16.9 moving her on to the finals where she would get 3 more jumps. Getting better inch by inch, scratching and clawing to 17, first jump into finals 16’10. Second jump 17’1 sealing her spot in Masters! Last jump 17’2 just for some icing on the cake!
Karlie blew out her competition finishing 2nd in Divisionals. She cleared her spot to Masters automatically and by finishing top 6.

After jumping 4’10, Claire had a nail biter finish with a jump off to see who would get the last spot. Thinking she was finished, she got the news in her car she needed to come back and break a tie, she quickly parked her car, ran into the field, threw her spikes back on being first up to jump. With all her adrenaline racing she cleared 5’O first try, her competitor missed, sealing Claire’s spot to Masters!

Varsity volleyball played 5 matches and won 4 straight before falling in 2 sets to Sanger West in the Championship Game of the Fresno Christian Eagle Classic.

Austin Lung and Jake Dorn were recognized with all-tournament honors.

Congratulations to the 2024-25 Competitive Cheer Team for placing 3rd in the Intermediate Tumbling division at the West Coast Championships hosted by The Fellowship of Christian Cheerleaders. The routine was not perfect; however, these athletes know how to get back up and recover even after a fall.... a life lesson that is taught through the ministry of cheer. This team's leadership and growth has been such a JOY to watch. Great Job, ladies!
